September came and went

We got to take our first weekend trip to visit my parents now that they're in Logan. I didn't take a singe picture, but we had lots of fun with them. Adaline LOVES playing with her aunt and uncles (especially Daniel). Whenever we visit them, we hardly see Adaline. We got there late Friday afternoon and had a pizza party once dad got home. On Saturday we watched Daniel's football game and lots of college football on TV. Later I ran a couple errands with my mom while the boys put the air hockey table together, and then we got back in time to eat burgers out on their deck. That night we roasted marshmallows over the grill and ate s'mores. The next day mom and dad watched Adaline while Andrew and I went to one session of the temple dedication, and then they went to a later one. It was a nice lazy Sunday and we really enjoyed our visit. So...we actually have sort of a lot going on right now. Some of you know that Andrew has had a job offer with Dow Chemical sitting on the ...

Getting back to Utah (and all the stops along the way)

Oh no! It's almost been a whole month since the last post; this might turn into a novel. So... After doing all I could to clean and pack our apartment, and giving Daddy lots of hugs and kisses, Adaline and I set out around 5 on Thursday morning (Aug 21) to fly back to Utah. Adaline was a perfect little flyer that day. She didn't cry at all during our two flights, nor did she make any messes on our flight neighbors. Gram met us at the airport and helped us get our crazy amounts of stuff all into the car. It felt SO good to be back in Utah and I really never expected to say that. I spent the rest of the day re-packing and organizing so that we could head to Idaho the next day. She put this on her head multiple times and apparently thought it was awesome This is how we got around the airport, and almost everyone stopped to comment on it. After a lovely, uneventful (albeit rainy) drive, we got to the Fishies in one piece. That night I got to see Alyss...

Embracing Louisiana

A couple weekends ago we went to Kliebert's Alligator Farm because how could we live in Louisiana and not go to an alligator farm. We loved it! The oldest alligator there was 54 years old and almost 15 feet long. We also got to see a TON of turtles, a mama alligator guarding her nest, and various other creatures. We learned that alligators can go a whole year without eating because rather than eating when they're hungry, they just eat whenever they have the chance. When they aren't hungry right when they've eaten, they store it as fat until they do need it. It's also incredibly loud when they smack their jaws together. Oh yeah, and something about them not being able to swallow their food when they're underwater so that they don't drown themselves. Sorry it's crooked, but there were 10,000 turtles in that pond! And the pond wasn't exactly huge Are you sure that's a good idea? Just a couple of mamas protecting their ...
