Why is it still hot?

An update on our lives: Andrew is still helping to coach soccer for a team of 9-year-olds (some friends of ours have a son on the team; it's just for fun).  Adaline went to the dentist for the first time. I have no pictures because I ended up sitting in the chair with Adaline and Matthew both sitting in my lap.  We finally registered our car and got CA driver licenses-SO expensive. Sheesh! We've started going to the storytime at the library. It's technically for kids between 3 and 5, but the younger kids' storytime is during nap time so we're doing this instead. Adaline doesn't really participate, but then she sings all the songs on the way home and talks about the books all day.  Labor Day weekend was really fun. On Sunday, we went over to a family's house and ate cookies and talked till 9 or 10 (I can't remember, but I know it was waay past the kids' bedtime). Then on Monday we went to a different family's house for brisket and baseball ...

That time when Uncle Wilson came to town

I wrote this at the end of August/beginning of Sept about what we did during August 14-25 : It has taken a lot longer than I expected to get back into the swing of things after being gone for two weeks (especially since one of those weeks was unplanned), but it's been great. The highlight of the last few weeks has been having Wilson nearby. He's been at the Travis AFB doing an assignment and has had lots of off days that he was able to spend with us! He and Andrew both happened to have off the Friday after the kids and I got back so we all went into the city. Wilson's military affiliations were able to get us all into the Walt Disney museum for free. I think we all learned a lot; I liked the part where we got to do the sound effects for a cartoon and the 3D model of Disneyland back in the day. After the museum, we drove over to the Golden Gate Bridge and had a surprisingly tasty lunch at the Round House Cafe(mmm sourdough bread bowls). Then we looked at the displays...

Hanging out in Logan

When we left Yellowstone Friday morning, we headed straight for the Reeves to spend a quick 48 hours on our way back home. Thankfully, the drive wasn't too bad and we were able to pull in just after lunch. We visited with mom, Noah, Harris, and Chloe then went and picked up Daniel from his lacrosse camp. Dad got home from work and we all went to Chuck-O-Rama. It was just like old times because everyone had to wait while I finished my food :D Adaline was also eating long after most people finished-I guess it's a family tradition. At some point, Dad told us about how he discovered Pentatonix...again and "made" us all watch youtube videos of them. The funny thing is that when he and Daniel were out here a couple months ago, he told me all about how he learned of Pentatonix and how he stayed up late watching their youtube videos. He has absolutely no memories of this. He's not even old! It was hilarious except that it was scary. The youtube party eventually turned i...
