16 weeks

Back when I was... How Far Along:  16 weeks (end of October) Size of Baby:  According to my babycenter.com, roughly 4.5 inches long and 3.5 ounces Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Maybe 3 pounds...at the most Maternity Clothes:  Some of my jeans are getting tight but I can still wear everything  Gender:  Still don't know. Since the heartbeat was fast, people are guessing a girl. We'll see though!  Movement:  Hard to say. Nothing definite though . Sleep:  I'm sleeping so much better now. I don't get up as much and I don't ALWAYS need a nap during the day either. It's awesome. What I miss:  Still nothing Cravings:  I "crave" everything I smell/hear people talk about/see other people eat. I'm just super hungry all the time! Aversions:  I think I'm done with this phase of pregnancy. Woohoo! Symptoms:   Does feeling big count as a symptom? I don't look much different, but I swear things ar...

Almost 13 weeks

So now that you all know the secret, I guess I'll share with you the record I've been keeping of this grand little adventure. I got this questionnaire from another friend's blog and figured it'd help me keep track. I answered the questions about every month, and now you get to enjoy the catch up!   How Far Along:  12 weeks  and 5 days (Beginning of October) Size of Baby:  According to my research(which Magic School Bus character?), the baby is a little more than 2 inches and roughly the size of a large plum/peach Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Lost weight at first (probably from working out and it was only a pound or two) but basically the same weight I've been for years Maternity Clothes:  I don't like wearing anything tight around my hips, but my clothes all still fit  Gender:  I'll be happy either way. My guess would be boy (but I would be soo fine with being wrong ;)  Movement:  Apparently the baby is moving lots ...

Another trip?!

My titles are always cheesy. I just struggle, ok? We rang in the new year with the Glenns and Fishers (I even tried shrimp again) and then spent some time unpacking and organizing our house. We're still working on that one, but it's looking pretty good. Then we headed down to San Diego with our good friend Richard so we could go to Garrett (Andrew's old roommate) and Heather's wedding. The drive consisted of great conversation and, luckily, no more rides through the ditch. After checking in to the ra-ma-DA, we played reverse charades with some of Garrett's family and our team completely dominated the other two. It was a perfect day for a wedding. With mine and Andrew's anniversary being right around the corner, going to a wedding was the perfect way to remember how in love we are and how we felt on our own wedding day. Also, the San Diego temple is gorgeous. And since we didn't get to see much of the inside, Andrew and I went back in afterward to do ...

Back to Utah

Next, we drove to Salt Lake to meet up with Andrew's parents and we all went to the "new" mall and checked out the lights at Temple Square. Eating snowflakes They liked the store where they could  watch TV while their momma shopped We stayed the night in Salt Lake and then toured the State Capitol before going home. Doing some lovely posing That night was the Smith family holiday party! I played Barbies with my favorite niece, met more of Andrew's cousins, and had fun with the white elephant gift exchange.

Christmas festivities

So what state did I leave off in? Oh yes, Idaho. We LOVE visiting family. The first night we were there, we went to see a crazy amount of Christmas lights and a camel near M&K's house. We also did a little late birthday celebration for Andrew since I didn't get to bake him a cake. He almost ruined the surprise because every time I went into the kitchen to work on his cake, he followed me in there to make sure I wasn't snacking.... The next day we all did a little Christmas shopping. Sunday was great. Alyssa (one of my former roommates,  friend from my major, visiting teacher, and also Andrew's friend) had gotten back from her LDS mission in Romania about a week before and we surprised her by going to her homecoming talk. It was so good to see her and she gave such a great talk. We also had lunch at her house after and chatted with her family and some of our other college friends. Monday was wonderfully relaxing. We went out shopping again...

Wild Ride

After staying the night in Amarillo, we made it to Denver in great time and the road conditions were excellent the whole way. We got to visit with my family, play darts and video games with the kids, and eat lots of tasty food we didn't have to cook. We also had early Christmas and I got my favorite present of the year: The Family: A Proclamation to the World printed on a big canvas with pictures of me and Andrew and our parents, siblings, and niece/nephews all around the border. I love it. The night before we were leaving, we heard there would be some snow that night. Turns out it was actually a horrible blizzard. We felt like it was okay to go ahead and drive to Utah and we really didn't want to reschedule the car, doctor, and dentist appointments we had made for the next day. So on we went. Andrew is a great driver, but when you're towing a car behind a 10 foot trailer in bad wind, snow, and ice, things can get a little tricky. At one point we were in the right lane, ...

We're still alive!

For some reason I thought that if i didn't blog for a while, my blog would just disappear and no one would ever miss it. Well, I bet no one misses it, but it's still here and I still feel obligated to write things on it. So here's what we're gonna do. Rather than play catch up in one giant post, I'll just post about the recent happenings little by little till we get caught up (or close to it). Deal? Deal! So about a month ago, we had our ward Christmas party. Andrew accompanied a violin/cello quartet on the piano, I sang with the Relief Society, and we both ate our fill of mashed potatoes, ham, and banana pudding. We really loved hanging out with all of our friends in that ward and will miss them lots. Here are some pictures: Two of the girls from my Sunday school class The next weekend (or maybe the one after that) was Packing the U-haul day plus Andrew's Birthday! So we  spent the morning enjoying the help of our awesome friends while we packed...
