Stockholm, Day 2

When you neglect your blog, it gets mad and makes tons of things happen so that you feel even worse about being behind. How rude! Day 2 in Stockholm (Saturday) After spending a couple hours awake at 3:30am due to the time change and jet lag, I was able to fall back asleep and wake up at a normal time. We went down to breakfast and were greeted by the most delicious croissants ever. Oh man...I'm still dreaming about them. Anyway, we headed out to the Vasa Museum. The museum is all about this ship built in 1628. Everyone knew the ship had some issues, but they set out anyway. The ship sunk less than an hour later; it only made it about 1000 meters. The ship then hung out in the ocean for 333 years before someone figured out where it was and had the capabilities to pull it up. It was dark and chilly in the museum to help preserve the ship The king is going to give us a large reward for our ship. We're awesome. Isn't he a cutie (I left out the que...

Stockholm, Day 1

We planned this little adventure because Andrew served his mission in Sweden and really wanted to go back, and his brother currently lives in Norway so it was also the perfect opportunity to visit them. On Tuesday night we moved down with the Glenns; on Wednesday Andrew took his final, I finished packing/cleaning the green house/running all the last-minute errands, and we both stayed up a little too late packing; and on Thursday we got up at 3 so to get ready and head to the airport. We had a pretty direct route, going through Chicago and then straight to Stockholm. I've never been on an airplane with two aisles or ridden long enough to be served meals. I thought it was awesome except for when we were getting dinner around 1am Stockholm time and I was trying to tell my body to go to sleep. I think we got a couple hours of sleep eventually and when we landed it was 7:30am. Waiting around during our 5 hour layover in Chicago It was fun riding the train down to Stockholm b...

Easters

Despite having celebrated Adaline's birthday already, we still wanted to do things she would like on her actual birth day. Since our house was already a packing zone, we went to the little play place at the mall and let Adaline run/climb all over the place. Then I needed to go to Costco, so we got Adaline some frozen yogurt while we were there. She loved it. I just wasn't feeding it to her fast enough. That night we left Adaline with a baby-sitter (rude, I know, at least she doesn't know the difference) and we got to go to Andrew's senior banquet. The highlight of the show...Andrew! There were 5 "Outstanding Senior" awards given out, but Andrew got THE Outstanding Senior award. He's the best of the best (not like I ever doubted that). It was fun to talk with some of our friends before they all move around the country to start real people jobs. Daddy makes the best lounge chair Being fancy Adaline was great at helping me pack: ...
