Gualala 2015

A couple months ago, we were chatting with a family in our ward about family traditions and they mentioned that they take a yearly camping trip over Memorial Day weekend. They also said that they book it a year in advance, go with a bunch of other families from our ward, and that they would let us know if a family dropped out and there was room for us. There did end up being another family that couldn't go and so that's how we spent our four day weekend! By the time we found out we were going, we had 3 weeks to get everything ready. Luckily, we already had a good amount of camping gear and just had to buy a couple small things and borrow two things. Andrew had Friday off and so we drove up in the morning (-ish). It's about a 3-hour drive up Highway 1 and has beautiful views all the way. The only bummer is that the last 1.5 hours are incredibly windy and Adaline threw up. By the time she got sick, we were only 30 minutes away and if we stopped I'd have to feed Matthew ...

6 months of Matthew

I started this post a few weeks ago with the intention of giving an update on Matthew. It might be slightly old news now, but here we go. At Matthew's 6 month check up he was 26 inches and 13 lbs 12 oz (before eating) and 14 lbs 1 oz (after eating). That's exactly the same size Adaline was at that age. This is great news because for a while there he was even smaller than Adaline was (at his age). His doctor wasn't content, however, and she recommended that he see a GI specialist about his incessant spitting up. This is MUCH more easily said than done though, and I have made so many phone calls to insurance, Matthew's doctor, the GI specialist, and they have called each other. I don't know why they can't get it figured out, but we're still trying to make an appointment. In the mean time, Matthew is still taking the lactase, taking a probiotic, taking reflux meds, and I no longer eat dairy (worst thing ever! Seriously, if you've gone through this, please...

A visit to the Y

Andrew graduated back in December (hence the whole moving to California and starting a job thing) but since BYU doesn't hold graduation ceremonies in December, we got to go back to the home of the Cougars. Adaline was SO excited about going to the airport, flying on a plane, and going to Utah. She is a fairly experienced flyer (I think these were her 9th and 10th flights) and she is so good on airplanes. It's only 1.5 hour flight, and both kids did great! Gram met us at the airport and Adaline was stoked! Our flight was delayed so we got to watch them load the luggage and get the plane ready. She's a pirate? This pretty much sums up our lives right now. Adaline just wants to read, and Matthew wants to touch/pull/get into everything. On Thursday morning, we took Gram and met Keller at the Provo Rec Center to go swimming. It was great to catch up with Keller for a while. Adaline had so much more fun playing here than the last time I brought her. It's amazing...
