Happy 1 Month Addie Jane!

A couple of my friends do this clever thing where they fill out this little survey each month and I thought that was a pretty good idea, so I'm copying it. :D Nicknames: Addie, Addie Jane, honey bear, sugar pie, sweet pea, princess, sugar bear, baby girl ...... we (mostly I) call you lots of random things-including your real name ;) Temperament: normally calm. In the evenings your stomach is upset and that obviously isn't your favorite thing, but otherwise you're a pretty happy baby Things I Could Do Without: The puking. You've gotten so much better, but still every once in a while you forcefully throw up your whole meal and it's often aimed right at mom or dad . It makes me think of a geyser.  On a related note, when you're eating you often get fussy and have to stop multiple times to burp. You get so upset because you're hungry and you keep trying to eat, but you're in pain cause you need to burp so you can't eat. It's ...

We are loving life!

I have heard terrifying stories about those first two weeks home with a newborn...But  in my experience, it was relatively uneventful. Yes we had a couple nights where Adaline just wanted to cry for an hour or so, yes she launched a poop rocket while Andrew was changing her, and yes we were a bit sleepy. But, here's a list of some of the other things we did in those first two weeks after she came home: Took a shower...every day...including the day she was born Took 3 finals (missed one; missed one; 100%) Went to Wal-mart, the grocery store, Target, Babies R Us, Walgreens, Costco Ate at Olive Garden Ate at Cafe Rio Made window valances with my mom and Andrew (Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you about the quilt I made back in December) There's one on the other window too It has adorable elephants. And the lace says "BABY". I obviously made it before I knew she was a girl... Had a baby shower/open house Went to almost all of church (we missed ...

Going into labor on my due date...what a cliché

I'm a little intimidated to sit down and write this (and not just because of the sitting down part). I feel like I'm going to leave out all the important parts and I already feel like I can't remember everything. I'm warning you now that it is unnecessarily long and detailed. In my defense, this blog doubles as a journal. First, the end of pregnancy. I was loving the end of my pregnancy to be honest. I was so distracted with school that I wasn't constantly aware of how uncomfortable I was. I accomplished so much homework, and was so caught up on everything that I kept getting bored. It was great. Every day when I came to class people would greet me with, "no baby yet, huh?" Here are pictures from the last couple weeks: 38 weeks 39 weeks 40 weeks         The last picture was taken around 8 the morning of my due date-I guess that's a good enough place to start. We left for campus and I was having contractions that made me have to stop an...

So close!

It sure has been a party around here lately. In fact, I believe Andrew and I were on campus from 9am to 9pm last Saturday. Woo hoo! But really, we do try to sneak in some fun here and there. I don't remember what we've done if I didn't take a picture of it, so here's the recap in pictures: First there was pi day. Andrew made pancakes, I got a free T-shirt, ate a free donut, and helped out with the pi day celebrations at Brigham Square. Andrew's been winning all his soccer games and from the looks of it, he sure likes to win! Andrew likes to make pancakes for all of the holidays actually... Sometimes I lounge... ...and Andrew puts together the crib. But it's okay because then I made a pie COMPLETELY from scratch Oh and I'm also growing a human... 34 w 3 days 35 weeks 36 weeks 37 weeks I feel like these pictures look like they should go in the reverse order...Anyway, happy spring!

Busy days

Oh man, what haven't we been up to these days? As I sit here typing this, my body is threatening to fall asleep-even though it's only 4:30 in the afternoon! Andrew and I have been SO busy lately. 1st: school. We stay on campus until 6 or 7 every night and spend Saturday from 9-6 on campus too. Even with all of that, as soon as we get home, we eat dinner and get right back to our homework. I'm really starting to miss my husband. I guess the good news in all of that is that we both are maintaining pretty good grades for now. Other good news that is school related: the semester is basically half over which means that if we've made it this far, we can make it the rest of the way AND my block class is about to end! Speaking of school, when I signed up for my classes 5 months ago, I guess I didn't notice the extra 6 credit class I'm taking...BABY. I have spent so many hours researching car seats and strollers and carriers and....you name it. Woof. But, now that we...

31 weeks

So maybe it's been more than a month since the last time I filled this out. That's what happens when you spend 60 hours in the car traveling through 9 states, move from Texas to Utah,  and then start one of the most demanding semesters of your life. Just give me a break, I am growing a human after all! Side note about all the trips over the break:  It is REALLY hard to pack when you have no idea what clothes you'll even fit into in 2 weeks. Seriously, how do people do that? How Far Along : 31 weeks Size of Baby : Roughly 16 inches and 3.3 pounds Total Weight Gain/Loss : Do we really need to talk about this anymore? Maternity Clothes : The only "maternity" clothing I've actually worn is a bella band to go over some of my jeans. I can actually still wear quite a few pairs. However, I intend to buy some more comfortable pants SOON 'cause this is getting ridiculous. And the really tricky thing is skirts... (I typed this at 28 weeks and it w...
