So now that you all know the secret, I guess I'll share with you the record I've been keeping of this grand little adventure. I got this questionnaire from another friend's blog and figured it'd help me keep track. I answered the questions about every month, and now you get to enjoy the catch up!
How Far Along: 12 weeks and 5 days (Beginning of October)
Size of Baby: According to my research(which Magic School Bus character?), the baby is a little more than 2 inches and roughly the size of a large plum/peach
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Lost weight at first (probably from working out and it was only a pound or two) but basically the same weight I've been for years
Maternity Clothes: I don't like wearing anything tight around my hips, but my clothes all still fit
Gender: I'll be happy either way. My guess would be boy (but I would be soo fine with being wrong ;)
Movement: Apparently the baby is moving lots but I can't feel any of that yet
.
Sleep: I was sleeping a TON, if I didn't get a nap in, I got tired by 6pm. Now I have some energy back, but with not much to do it's being wasted I guess
What I miss: Nothing yet.
Cravings: Fruit. lots and lots of fruit. I don't think I'm really "craving" it cause I have always loved fruit so much, but we'll count it
Aversions: None anymore. Often things don't sound very good to me and if I get them in front of me the smell might make me want to gag....but I usually just have to get past the first bite and then I can handle it. BUT last month I couldn't stand even the thought of chicken. I wasn't very fond of vegetables either. Luckily those have both gone away, so I'm eating more than just simple carbs now (everyday I just wanted to eat mac and cheese). :)
Symptoms: I am so lucky. I have heard of so many difficult first trimesters and that has just not been the case for me. I was often queasy, especially in the evenings, but I never, ever threw up! The food aversions were the worst things, and it really wasn't so bad. My newest symptom has been horrible headaches in the evening...woof.
Best Moment: That would have to be the day we found out . It was great! I went to work that morning only to be sent home because there weren't enough kids coming into the day-care during my shift. So I went to the grocery store and picked up a pregnancy test because I was already very suspicious (my womanly cycles were running a little late you see). I also needed to go to the BYU bookstore to pick up some things for Andrew while he was at work. Since Andrew was on campus working and I knew I'd want to tell him right away if I really was pregnant, I figured I'd better hurry and find out. Plus, it was killing me not knowing! I felt really silly taking a pregnancy test on campus, but I figured, "it's BYU, I'm probably in good company" ha! Anyway, it was positive and I wanted to go tell Andrew, but I wanted to do something cute. So I went back to the bookstore and bought The Very Hungry Caterpillar because Andrew and I both loved that book as kids and I want our kiddo to love it too. I went wandering the Clyde because Andrew was in the basement with no cell service and didn't answer my calls. Luckily I found him in TA hours, so I could talk to him. After a minute of small talk, I told him that I'd gotten him something and showed him the book. He didn't get it. I think his response was something like, "oh good, I like that book". Ha. So I pulled out the positive pregnancy test and then it all clicked. He got the biggest grin. It was awesome. What a great dad he is going to be. :)

YES!!! I felt like such an awful person at Alyssa's because I kept thinking "She is either preggo and not telling anyone or...she gained ten pounds in only her stomach area.." It was killing Mike and I to ask. SO HAPPY FOR YOU! You will make such a cute mom!!
ReplyDeleteHaha everyone was thinking it. And I kept saying to Andrew, "does everyone just think that I got really fat?!?" I was thinking it'd be obvious enough by that point that people would just assume it. It was very entertaining for me. Thank you so much! I've very excited, but also very overwhelmed and nervous!
DeleteLove this!! Thanks for sharing. It's so good to know how you're doing so far away! Love you. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it, I have a few more of these coming. Love you too!
