Happy Birthday to me

The baby girl has been asleep for just over 10 hours now. Since I should be studying for the test I'm taking tomorrow, I am naturally drawn to the blog. I just need to document how awesome my birthday was this year!

On Monday, Andrew came home from work and said we needed to go buy ice cream before we went on our run. He didn't look me in the eye the whole time he was talking, so I knew something fishy was going on, but I went with it. He wasn't going to the regular grocery store and when I asked why not, he just giggled (he's just not a very good liar). In the same parking lot as the grocery store is a running store and Andrew was taking me to get some new running shoes. Yippee! He was disappointed that I wasn't super surprised, but glad that I liked the present.

I almost cried watching someone else feed her, but we
had to make sure she'd take a bottle so we could go to dinner

Tuesday (the birthday): People texted/called/facebooked me "happy birthday"s all day. My wonderful friend Alyssa brought me cinnamon rolls and chatted with me. A friend from church brought me a piece of delicious cheesecake. For dinner we left Adaline with her grandparents (yes, it was difficult) and went to Los Hermanos for dinner and free birthday ice cream. Then we walked over to the new temple site and checked out the progress. I also got a cookbook from Andrew's brother and family that I'd really been wanting!

We really struggled trying to get a good picture of us

About to enjoy my birthday fried ice cream

Wednesday: Since we had so many sweets the day before, Andrew saved making my cake until today. It's soo good. strawberries and cream cheese...how could it not be good? Also, I had ordered a bag for myself a while ago and it happened to come today, so that felt like another birthday present. I love it!

Making the cake

Thursday: The same dear friend Alyssa as above came over (we'd planned this weeks before) just to chat and hang out. While she was over, Andrew's mom also came over to pick up some laundry for us (as she often does).... Or so I thought. Turns out Andrew planned a little surprise with them. Alyssa and I went and got pedicures while his mom watched Adaline. It was the first time Andrew has ever surprised me, and I must say he did a GREAT job. It was so nice to get out of the house, visit with Alyssa, and have my feet massaged. When we got back home, Adaline was still sleeping and we all had cake together. Perfect!

I brought my camera, but forgot to take any pictures till we were outside...typical

What a great birthday week!

P.S. My little girl must be doing some serious growing 'cause she is STILL asleep. (I might have gone in to check that she was still breathing 'cause she's been asleep so long.)
