So maybe it's been more than a month since the last time I
filled this out. That's what happens when you spend 60 hours in the car
traveling through 9 states, move from Texas to Utah, and then start one of the most demanding
semesters of your life. Just give me a break, I am growing a human after all! Side note about all the trips over the break: It is REALLY hard to pack when you have no idea what clothes you'll even fit into in 2 weeks. Seriously, how do people do that?
How Far Along: 31 weeks
Size of Baby: Roughly 16 inches and 3.3 pounds
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Do we really need to talk about this
anymore?
Maternity Clothes: The only "maternity" clothing
I've actually worn is a bella band to go over some of my jeans. I can actually
still wear quite a few pairs. However, I intend to buy some more comfortable
pants SOON 'cause this is getting ridiculous. And the really tricky thing is
skirts... (I typed this at 28 weeks and it was true. But last week I broke down and finally bought some maternity jeans. Even though I can still wear my other ones, it's great because I don't feel like I'm being cut in half every time I bend over.
Gender: I guess I haven't updated this since I found out, but
it's a girl!
Movement: She is one active baby (just like most). It's very
entertaining to watch my stomach move and when I prop a book on my stomach to
read, it sometimes bounces. It also feels like she's counting my ribs with her
toes sometimes...not the most comfortable thing ever. The other day she had
some body part poking me really hard so I started pushing on it and it made her
move it very suddenly. We're already interacting!
.
Sleep: I must be the luckiest pregnant woman alive. Everyone
I know has told me that right about now, or a little before, they stopped being
able to sleep comfortably through the night and had to have a million pillows
surrounding them and maybe even had to sleep in a chair. Not me. I get my 8 1/2
hours of sleep and love it. My back hurts every morning when I wake up, but it
usually goes away quickly (until the afternoon at least). UPDATE again: Just this week I've started having Braxton Hicks contractions that wake me up at night...I am not a fan.
What I miss: Being able to bend over without feeling like
all my food going to make a grand appearance...slash being able to bend over in
general. I also miss the days when working out and eating well meant that I
would be skinny. Oh and my brain, where'd that go?
Cravings: I'm still not convinced that pregnancy cravings
are real. I mean I want junk food all the time, but is that really so weird? I guess I am more inclined to eat sweet things than I once was and Andrew loves it because we have ice cream much more often these days.
Aversions: I think I'm all done with these (knock on wood) but walking past the seafood counter at the grocery store sure makes me want to vomit.
Symptoms: back ache,
always hungry!, that feeling that my food is anxious to get back on my plate
after I ate it, being incapable of keeping track of my schedule, a large belly...
Best Moment: Since the last time that I updated? Having the ultrasound and finding out it's a girl! It's awesome to say "her" instead of "it" and "daughter" instead of "child/baby". It was also so reassuring to have the Dr. go through an extensive list of things he was looking for and knowing that our baby is getting an A+ on developing properly (I guess that's proof that she's mine and Andrew's child ;)
