Back when I was...
Best Moment: Feeling the baby move, but even more so when Andrew felt the baby move. He had his hand on my stomach and the baby gave a big kick. He was so shocked/surprised/excited. I wish I could have captured the look on his face. It was like it couldn't believe there was actually a real, live baby moving around in there. He said it made it seem so much more real for him. Another thing I really like is watching the baby move. When the baby is really active, I sometimes start watching the baby kick around and make my stomach poke out. The only problem is that it makes me laugh every time, so then I can't see it anymore.
How Far Along: 21 weeks (beginning of December)
Size of Baby: "At 10.5 inches and about 12.7 ounces, roughly the size of a pomegranate"
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 9 pounds
Maternity Clothes: I have one dress that is too uncomfortable to wear and a couple pairs of jeans don't fit because they come up higher. My low-rise jeans still button with room to spare
Gender: I think it's a boy because I want it to be a girl, but we're finding out kind of late because of the move
Movement: All the time. The baby is especially active in the evening and when I'm stretching in the morning. Sometimes it feels like a punch or kick and sometimes it feels more like a body slam. So awesome.
.
Sleep: I'm such a good sleeper. I really tested myself over Thanksgiving by having two very full (ha ha) days in a row without a nap. I sleep great and don't wake up very much and I have lots of energy during the day, even though I still sneak in a nap here and there
What I miss: I just don't miss anything.
Cravings: I still don't believe in these yet
Aversions: Um, meat and vegetables never seem that delicious to me, but I promise I still eat them.
Symptoms: Lower back pain. Every morning when I wake up and often throughout the day. It's not that bad, just achy especially if I walk a lot that day. People are starting to say I look pregnant.

Quick story: You expect to get lots of advice and hear stories about other peoples' births and pregnancies, but this one caught me by surprise. A 60-year-old MAN told me that if he were going to have a baby, he would like to try out a water birth. He continued to go into detail about the whys of this great fantasy of his...
So cute Sarah! This is about where I am at right now- with pretty much the same symptoms/experiences. Maybe I'll just copy this blog post and change the pictures. :) Hope all is going well for you now! ps: I want to see an updated picture!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Haha it's funny how as different as pregnancies are, there tend to be a lot of things in common. I'm almost updated...Just like 10 weeks off now....I'm getting close though. Also, I'm so excited for you!! Do you know whether it's a boy or a girl yet?
DeleteWe'll find out on Monday if it's a boy or girl. Can't wait! I'm so excited for you too! Also, do you still live in Provo or did you guys move?
