Everyone who knows my sister and I knows that she's the crafty one. She's awesome at decorating, scrapbooking, sewing projects, art, you name it. I, however, did not end up with this great gift. I got my first ever "B" in art class. My idea of great art for the bedroom wall? My science class project of my body shape cut out on purple butcher paper and the muscular, nervous, skeletal,... systems drawn in. It just doesn't click with me. In light of all this, the story I have to share will most likely deeply impress you.
Andrew's parents were cleaning out our backyard at the beginning of the summer. They were about to haul off a nasty old door, but I stopped them 'cause I just knew I could use it for something. At the beginning it looked about like this:
Yuck. It was super dirty, cracked, chipped and peeling paint, etc. So we got busy removing the frame, taking off the paint, gluing the cracks, and filling in some holes.

And stuck it behind our bed. Voila, cheap headboard!
I think it'll look better with our comforter on the bed, but we didn't bring that to Texas.
