Library days, park days, riding bikes, church callings, ripping out our bathroom, dance class, and camping. It was a good one.

I love these goofy kids |
I often walk in on scenes like this, and it makes my heart so happy |
Adaline got this lego castle for her birthday and built it all by herself-skipping breakfast and lunch so she could keep working. Matthew was her biggest cheerleader throughout. |

There used to be a toilet here. When we moved in, two years ago, we knew it should be replaced and got a new one to put in. We also knew that there was likely a bigger issue going on because all the tile around the toilet was cracked, so we put off replacing it. A few weeks ago, the toilet broke a bit more and I decided that it was time to bite the bullet and put in the new one. I got the old toilet off and found that it had been leaking and the flange was broken so I wouldn't be able to just put in the new one. Knowing that I'd just opened a bigger can of worms, I called Andrew and led with, " Don't be mad..."Thank goodness he's such a sweetheart. Anyway, I'll let you see how this progressed as the month went on. |
We've recently decided that the cul-de-sac across the street is the perfect place to ride bikes |
The subfloor seemed like it was probably wet, so we took up the tile around it so that it could dry out. |
Happy baby alert! But really, this guy is so sweet and almost always in a good mood. He so rarely gets fussy and he can get any of us to smile |
Michael and Matthew both idolize Adaline and I often find them wearing her clothes because they want to be just like her. Also, this is how I find Michael most mornings when I get him out of bed. I think it's the cutest thing |
They're so silly and they're mine and I'm completely obsessed with them. |
Kid initiated craft time on the deck |
I've been one of the activity days leaders at church for a few months now and it has been so fun getting to know these girls. They're decoding a secret message |
Once we took the project outside of the toilet room, we couldn't just shut the door and pretend it was all still put together. |
Got the rest of the tile up. |

We had been looking forward to this temple house for almost two years. As soon as I heard that our temple would undergo major renovations, I was so excited to take my kids inside. They love going to the temple and often ask about what it's like on the inside. It is beautiful and peaceful and I'm so happy they got to experience that. |

Friday nights are pizza nights at our house and lately it's been grilled pizza so that I don't have to turn the oven on. Sitting outside and eating pizza with my favorite people makes me all kinds of happy. This night was particularly awesome as Alex and I sat and watched daddy play freeze tag with the big kids. They are hilarious to watch because they are constantly making up new rules in order to avoid being tagged. "You can't tag someone when they're about to fall down. You can't tag someone if they're close to the tree. You can't tag someone when they're still getting up." You get the gist. It's also fantastic to watch them try and crawl under each others' legs in order to unfreeze each other. I tried to unfreeze Michael and ended up launching him over my back. He wasn't hurt, and I'm pretty sure I laughed till I cried. |

Saturday family fun at one of the kids' favorite parks and on the way home we saw hundreds of goats in a ditch. Apparently it's a fire prevention tactic where they release the goats to eat all the dry weeds. It sure took us by surprise. |
"It looks like the shower was leaking...we better take it out too." |
When you're baby #4 and mom can't always plan around your nap time, you have to take matters into your own hands and fall asleep sitting up in the grocery cart. |
This baby LOVES sand. Throwing it, eating it, crawling through it-loves it! |
Where are the heart eyes when I need them? |
haircut time! I thought maybe people would call him a girl less, but he still gets mistaken for a girl all the time. I actually have no idea why. |
Headed to Gualala! Our kids ask about this trip all year long. This year was especially great because no one through up on the drives and I slept for the last hour (the worst part) on the way up! |
As much as it's treacherous and makes me want to hurl, it's also gorgeous! |
And now skip to the end of the trip because I don't carry my phone around and therefore don't take any pictures the whole time. Basically, we ate, got super dirty, played at the playground, made s'mores, rode bikes, played and chatted with friends, and threw rocks in the river. It was busy in the sense that it was a camping trip with little kids, and it was relaxing in the sense that we didn't need to worry about our to-do lists or chores. |
We stopped at a beach on the way home and it was freezing, windy, and had a steep drop-off as soon as the sand met the water. The kids huddled under towels and we passed around food while laughing at the situation. |
One of the things I love about this camping trip and where we live in general, is having so many friends who love my kids like they're theirs. So many people who are always willing to grab a baby, lift a toddler to reach, or share a snack with a cranky kid. I'm constantly so grateful for my tribe. |
Made it home and started gearing up for a summer full of playdates and fun. Watching my kids' friendships blossoms is one of my favorite things |
And while they played, I worked on the endless laundry that camping creates |
These three boys were all born within just a couple months of each other and I'm hoping they'll keep being best friends as they grow up |
I think they pretended they were camping and all the stuff piled by the window is what they loaded into their car. |
A couple things not in the pictures: Civic Pride Day-we got to work as a family to help clean up one of many homeless camps. I was glad we got to go because I'm often at a loss thinking of service ideas that the little ones can help with. Any good ideas there?
For date night, Andrew and I looked at flooring options for the bathroom and then saw Avengers Endgame. I can count on one hand the number of movies I've seen in theater in the 7.5 years we've been married. It was good and I was thrilled that I managed to stay awake for the whole thing.
