Andrew and I went on a date. Like four hours of just the two of us out of the house and NOT running errands. It. Was. Awesome. (Thank you Audrey!!) We went to Chili's and then went to go ice skating, but it was crazy busy. So after running into David Brantley at the skating rink, Andrew had the idea that we should go to a jewelry store and pretend that we were about to get engaged and were looking for rings. So we took off our rings and went 2 1/2 years back in time. I tried on all the biggest and fanciest rings, kept almost talking about Adaline or how we'd been married for two years, and ate free cookies. It was fun and I even got my favorites down to a top 5 so that Andrew would have an idea of what to get me ;) It was silly and great. On the way home, we talked about all the things we almost said that would have given us away.
Last week, Andrew and I had our first intramural soccer game. Besides realizing that I have NEVER played a team sport (beyond middle school gym class), I also realized that Andrew and I haven't even formally played a sport together. I was really nervous because some people get super worked up over BYU intramurals, and I've obviously never played soccer before, but it actually turned out great. It was fun, I was so close to scoring, and when I was on defense nobody scored (probably just a happy coincidence, but I'll take what I can get). We didn't have someone picked to be goalie so Andrew stepped up, and he ROCKED it! He seriously did so well, and WE WON! After the game we went and got ice cream. (I think it was Andrew's idea of a perfect date, soccer + ice cream.)
Honestly, I'm surprised Adaline isn't walking yet. For a while now she's been standing for around 30 seconds without holding onto anything, just playing with her toys. She'll walk along all the furniture barely hanging on and if I hold her hand, she'll walk around hardly using me for support at all. She'll even be standing up, then squat down to pick up a toy, and stand right back up without any holding on to anything. Everyone keeps telling me how close she is to walking, but I think she just has no incentive. As soon as she sees something that she really wants, she drops and crawls like crazy for it.
She loves clapping for us, especially when she's eating or we ask her to, and eating our faces. She has also mastered the art of drinking out of a sippy cup. It's probably because I only put water in it and she wants to be just like me and drink a million ounces of water every day. ;) Oh yeah, her second tooth showed up last week and she's been chewing on her fingers/hands like crazy trying to get used to it. I also forgot to post her 9 month stats so here they are:
Weight: 16 pounds (16th percentile)
Height: 28 inches (around 65th percentile)
She is starting to move up in her weight percentile (coming from the 11th percentile at her last appointment), but only by a little. I mean, she's still in size 2 diapers for crying out loud.
Andrew and I had another soccer game this weekend and we won again. I'm getting better and I even shot a goal (their keeper stopped it) this game. It's a lot of fun to get to be part of one of Andrew's hobbies.
We're doing great! Here are some pictures to prove it.

Hanging out at the mall |
She has a jaw-dropping kind of life |
I love my goofy husband |
the avocado bath |
She really does cry sometimes |
I have no idea what she's eating right now, probably a cheerio that's been on the floor for a week |
First "real" ponytail |
She can't stand it when I leave, even just to take the trash out |
So sometimes we just play some peek-a-boo |
"...and then she was all like, 'no way!' " |
So cute it hurts |
This picture doesn't even look like Adaline to be because she never wears headbands and she never sucks her thumb |
This is Adaline's "up" face (as in pick me up right now) |
I guess she wanted to go jogging |
But also push the stroller |
She loved seeing herself in all the mirrors, she thought it was hilarous |
Luckily Andrew was the one in there, I stopped her before she could peek under the next one |
Trying to take a picture with my princess is always so difficult...
Sleepy girl |
I think she kind of looks like Uncle Wilson in this one |
She takes play time very seriously |
Adaline LOVES looking out the window |
An okay picture of Adaline standing up by herself |
