Heber City with the Glenns

Andrew couldn't take off work for the whole week of the Glenn Games, which made me a bit of a single mom on most of our outings...what I'm trying to say is that I didn't take any pictures. I know, I'm the worst. So family, please send me pictures.

But, here's what we did:
Monday: Adaline and I finished packing and then walked over to Seven Peaks to meet up with everyone. It was a chilly day if you were wet, but that was nice because I didn't have to worry about Adaline getting sunburned. After Seven Peaks, we had dinner at Costa Vida and then headed up to Heber City. The house we stayed in was huge and really nice. We had a short, combined FHE, sang songs, played musical rooms (sorry guys), and went to bed

Tuesday: All the families made their "flags" for the opening ceremonies. Adaline helped me with ours by making the first letter of all of our names with her footprint. It said,
ASA
Not Angle-Side-Angle, but...
Andrew Sarah Adaline
It was supposed to represent our family and corny + math pretty much sums us up (get it?). Anyway, then we had opening ceremonies and all the families marched around with their flags and then did a skit of sorts. Although Adaline and I couldn't do ours without Andrew and we never did end up getting to do it. I was actually a little bummed. I think it was Tuesday that we did 3-legged races and relay races too. After all that excitement, we went and got milkshakes at Granny's and then watched Monster's University. It was cute.

Wednesday: This was the early start day so that we could get up to Timpanogos Cave. I'm soo glad we left early because it was a longer hike than I thought, and it got HOT by the time we made it back down. Adaline got hungry as soon as we started hiking, so I spent most of the hike nursing her WHILE hiking. Then she started crying while we were in the cave and since I'd left her pacifier in the car, I got to nurse her while walking between the stalactites and stalagmites. That one was rather tricky, but at least it was cool and dark in there! I thought the cave was awesome. And it was huge! I kept looking behind me at tunnels that we weren't going down and couldn't believe how far back they went. Adaline screamed the entire way down the mountain, so Jackson and I went just as fast as we could. As soon as we got into the shade and Adaline got out of the sling, she was happy as could be for our picnic. I can't remember what we did the rest of the day. Probably because I was so exhausted after the hike. I do know we had a rootbeer tasting/matching contest. We might have also played Reverse Charades. I love that game. Everyone got really into it and we were laughing so hard.

Thursday: Luckily Andrew got to take off work Thursday and Friday. We headed down to BYU for a scavenger hunt and lunch at J Dawgs. Then we went to Cove Point to sing and do skits for Grandma Smith and her friends/anyone that was there. We visited for a while and took family pictures. Then we went to fat cats for some bowling and Brick Oven for some tasty dinner (thanks Stephen and Sarah!) before heading back up the canyon. I think this was the night that we played "adult games" where I learned that I really don't know everyone that well, but Miriam sure does!

Friday: We had a rather leisurely start to the day and eventually made it over to Jordanelle Reservoir. I wanted to make it down to the water, but Adaline was too hot and uncomfortable to eat well, so we hung out with Audrey and Joshua while everyone else froze their feet in the water.  At night we had closing ceremonies where we traded family fun baskets and later our rootbeer tasting bracket. It was fun and I liked the burps from unexpected people. ha.

Saturday was quite the day. Adaline hadn't gone to bed until very late the night before, so the 7am call from my parents saying they were almost there to pick me up came as a bit of a shock. Andrew, Adam, and Audrey helped me dash around and get things ready to go. Then there was the drive...Adaline did great at first-especially considering that she hadn't eaten yet. But, she gets tired of her car seat after a while and I can't blame her. We ended up stopped in Laramie for quite some time, but we all munched on ice cream, so it really wasn't too bad. My family was great about not complaining that Adaline slowed us down or complaining about her crying. I guess playing with her and enjoying her cuteness helps with that. :D

I think my favorite part of the whole week was spending time with Andrew's siblings and their spouses every night. Before this week I didn't know them very well at all. I loved chatting, playing games, jazzercise, dance parties, and whatever else we did while staying up late. It was an awesome week. Thanks to Stephen and Sarah for getting us all together and making it happen!

Here are the only two pictures I took all week some older, random ones just so this post isn't all words.

Not very representative of the week as a whole...

Enjoying our free ice cream (thanks mom!)

She's just so darn cute it's hard to handle
