March 2024
In March we continued making an effort to explore Skellefteå. Our stuff still hadn't arrived, so there wasn't much to do at home anyway.
We went bowling and I got my first ever turkey!
Lördagsgodis. Can't stop won't stop.
One exciting thing we did in February but which I didn't take a picture of until March was that we bought a kitchen table! We had gotten rid of ours before we moved which meant we could go ahead and buy one rather than waiting for ours to arrive. It's amazing what a difference it makes to have a place to eat and a few chairs to sit in.
We rented skis, poles, and boots for free from Fritidsbanken, and all went cross-country skiing for the first time. It was so much fun! Alex especially took to it and could have gone all day if the rest of us weren't ready to go home.
A cozy view of our house.
The ski rental period was 2 weeks, so I went back out a few times by myself or with the sister missionaries. It's like winter hiking but you also get to go flying down hills every now and then.
It was a big day when I finally started becoming a member at all the stores here. It's especially exciting at Willy's and ICA because then I can scan my own groceries while I shop, then just pay and walk out. It's a huge time saver when you're shopping for as many people as I am.
Cheering on Rose at her soccer game and embarrassing her as much as possible in the process.
Game night at the church.
Snow-covered river
I love when the tiny tree branches are all delicately covered in snow.
Adaline went alpine skiing on friluftsdag at school. This is her with one of her teachers who was helping her to remember how to ski.
One of the most popular after-school activities for my kids is the plus plus. I almost always find them at that table when I pick them up.
Tying feathers to the tree branches for Easter.
We ended up hosting 6 other people for Easter dinner in our still very empty house. The sister missionaries helped me out by winding string allll throughout the house to eventually lead to the kids' Easter eggs.
If you look closely at these next two pictures, you can see the strings criss-crossing and going every which way.
