August 2023
Literally just soccer and school. Michael and Matthew had their first season of soccer and Andrew was volunteered to coach one of their teams. In a fun turn of events, he ended up being assigned to coach both of their teams. This kicked off the busiest season we have ever had as a family. I started working full time at the school (covering for a teacher on maternity leave), the boys were in soccer with Andrew coaching both of them, the kids had piano lessons 3 days each week, I started taking online classes, I was still serving as a primary activity leader (and primary chorister), I was also still volunteering as the treasurer for the school's Family Network, and then of course we started the process of selling our house and moving abroad. Since I'm writing this from across the world and in February, clearly we made it through, but I think it explains the significant lack of pictures.

Just a beautiful view from my front door.

The rest of the month was a delicate balance of scheduling and working on communication to make sure everything got done. The boys started making serious improvement with their soccer skills, and Andrew was having fun working with the boys and returning to coaching after a long hiatus. We had lots of 10 minute dinners at the soccer field right before practice, and a lot of playing at the park while waiting for siblings in piano lessons. It was interesting figuring out how to get the normal things done around the house while being gone all day, doing homework on the weekends, and still getting volunteer responsibilities taken care of. Andrew continued the slow process of interviewing with Northvolt, and ended up rescinding his acceptance to the company in Concord because he would feel bad leaving right after starting if things worked out with Northvolt. He figured if they didn't give him an offer, then he could just keep slowly looking like he had been for the last few years. He also got things in place to be ready for the start-up he would be headed up in the coming months. Whew!
