May

This was a hard pill to swallow. The kids have been crossing off days on this calendar and earning beans for their Disneyland jar since the end of September. They were so bummed not getting to go, but I think I was even more disappointing and not being able to fix it for them or reward them for their patience and hard work. What makes it even worse is that we talked about going in February but decided to give the kids and ourselves just a little more time to get everything in order before going. Ugh! We are still hoping we'll get to take them eventually, but by the time we do, we'll probably have to buy a ticket for Alex. ha

Still working on this sourdough thing

Aren't they just so cute? They really are good friends, and I am so grateful for it.

Days upon days of puzzles and color by number

It felt like a good time to make progress on the quilt I started for Michael 4 years ago...still didn't finish it though. Ha!

Matthew's bed is always covered in books. I love it!

Adaline's first ever cross stitch, she really enjoyed doing it

"Happy Mother's Day, mom! Please share with us!"

I had just been talking to Andrew about how I really wanted to get a bike trailer so that we could go on family bike rides. Later in the week, I was riding bikes with the kids with Alex on my back in a baby carrier (questionable, I know) when we saw this toddler seat tied to a tree with a sign saying "FREE". I couldn't believe it!

Please don't be misled by this picture. It makes my backyard look much bigger and more put together than it really is. Like I actually would not recognize this as a picture of my own backyard if I hadn't taken it. But...we didn't finish building and filling our garden boxes. Most of the little green things in this picture are dead now, but I'm happy to report that the boxes do have living things in them today! (7/12)

I had to document some successful at home church. It definitely doesn't always look like this.

Not sure what game this was, but I got pretty involved...

Don't worry, he's a willing participant.

My kids made this dinner! Good job, guys!

Every year since we've been in CA we go camping with some friends over Memorial Day weekend. (so this year would have been our 6th time going) The campground was closed, but thanks to the efforts of our sweet friends, and a little creativity at our house, we were still able to commemorate the weekend we would have had. Here's hoping next year is back to normal!

We've sprinkled some book dust on this little guy too

Alex loves to help cook

We made it out to the cherries on the last day possible and managed to find 20 pounds of cherries. Yum!!

Adaline's dance teachers are so thoughtful and put up all their students' names in the window while they can't have lessons in person.

Doesn't little Daniel look so much like Alex??
