More kitchen experimenting: sourdough crumpets. Verdict: delicious |
This was Andrew's work set up when he suddenly had to work from home. Not so comfy. He would alternate between sitting awkwardly like this and just standing. |
A couple weeks in, we got him an office chair and borrowed a folding table from a friend, but... |
It turned into a puzzle table because we picked it up over the weekend, so he didn't need it right away. I know, I'm difficult to live with. But I would like everyone to know that he now has a dedicated corner of our bedroom with a table, an office chair, a foot rest, and a locking door. Thanks for being patient, love. |
See the extensive bruising? We ended up borrowing crutches at the same time as the table because I could barely get around the house. |
Does anyone else's entry way look like this these days? Just me? These all came in one day. |
Another fun craft from Nama and Papa! |
Sourdough crepes |
This loaf of bread struggled. It was the last time I tried making it with 100% kamut |
Now we're seeing some progress |

More crafts from the grandparents |

Getting in a Saturday morning workout together. |
Finished the puzzle! It was so hard. |
Adaline started cross stitching and it has been so fun to watch her learn and enjoy a new craft. I've been really impressed with her ability to focus and perservere. |

General Conference! |

Delicious sandwich with wild yeast whole wheat bread |

Easter egg hunt in the backyard |
HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY!
Don't be fooled, we colored these eggs the day after Easter because that's how I roll. Adaline also asked me by the Easter bunny didn't bring baskets to our house (she saw pictures of other people's) I told her that the Easter bunny isn't real (pretty sure she already knew that) and that I didn't want to buy stuff for Easter baskets this year-same as last year. hehe |
I played dolls with Adaline for most of a morning. That is not easy for me or my favorite way to spend time with her. This is definitely one of those sacrifices I make (occasionally) because I love my kids. |
Learning about tangrams |
It's so hard for me to believe she's seven. Seven is like a "big kid" age. She's going to remember being seven. So much pressure! |
Unwrapping the doll Matthew picked out for her |
He found his pockets and I love it so much |
Taking a break from opening presents because someone started reading a book. LOL |
Andrew killed it again with the cake. Adaline was very particular about wanting Hermione casting a spell and a potion bubbling and chocolate frogs and the Gryffindor crest all on her cake. I laughed and said "good luck" and went to bed. And he knocked it out of the park! |
Michael asked to eat Hermione's head... |
playing word hop (Thanks Lauren!) and decorating the sidewalk |
Now THAT is a good looking loaf of bread! |
One Saturday project including working to clean off some of the garage shelves. I found a few gems in my box of memories that reminded me of some of my awesome friends, and Adaline wore my old glasses for a solid week afterward.

Crowns to help us learn about King Benjamin |
It's amazing that he can come up with such good looking cakes considering his work environment. |
Another day of Adaline doing my hair |
These two absolutely love Kiwi boxes. This day was building a circuit for Matthew and making geometric candles for Adaline. |
Our "fancy" picnic dinner inside one night. Adaline arranged all the food for us. |
Success! |
Took apart the brake system on the stroller because the wire snapped. |
Thanks Matthew, love you too |
These best friends have clocked a lot of hours playing together on Adaline's new (used) doll house that she got for her birthday). I am SO grateful they have each other, now more than ever. |
All in all, we are doing well. We have some projects we're working on, everyone is actively learning new things, we get a lot of sun, and we usually manage to get in some movement each day. I think my kids are becoming even better friends (which has surprised me since we already spent most of our time together at home). Life is good and I have hope for a bright future.
