On November 1st, we finally got around to painting the pumpkins. Having a baby definitely throws things off a little bit.

Pumpkin painting turned into hand painting which soon turned into... |

wall painting! |

Gram came to visit and brought stickers! |

He couldn't be more proud |
Gram happened to be in town for Matthew's birthday again! So far she is 3/3 with seeing him on his birthday. We made a Curious George cake and went to the park. We also took advantage of having a live-in babysitter and Andrew and I got started with the pre-approval process so that we could start looking at houses.

Matthew is all boy and so sweet. He is crazy about his siblings, |
 |
He said he didn't need a nap... |

After our friends' babysat while we house hunted, they were kind enough to also let us join them for dinner |

Why would he sleep in his bed when there is a perfectly nice floor? |

Oh boy, two Mondays before Thanksgiving, I noticed a sudden pain in my kidney. It felt exactly like when I had the kidney stone and I was terrified. Later in the day I noticed a sore spot in one breast and felt feverish. By evening, I was convinced that I had another kidney stone and also had mastitis (I had it with Matthew and it was the WORST). I called my dr's office that night because I did not want to wait for it to get as bad as it was with Matthew. By the time that all got wrapped up, it was almost too late to go to the pharmacy so I decided to give it till morning. In the morning I no longer had the sore spot and couldn't tell if I had a fever because I was taking tylenol/ibuprofen to keep up with the kidney pain. By Wednesday I couldn't take it anymore. I decided that since I was no longer pregnant, it was time to go in and have them break up the stone so it could pass more easily. Andrew stayed home and my amazing friend Amber was kind enough to drive me to the hospital and spend the whole day with me. She was amazing to have with me because she texted Andrew everything the doctors' said, got me a ton of heated blankets since my fever was making me feel like I was in Antarctica, remembered to tell the nurses information that I couldn't seem to remember (like that I was 4 weeks postpartum) and just generally took care of everything little thing. I feel SO lucky to have people here who treat us like family and are so willing to help us out.
After what seemed like forever, they determined that I had a really bad kidney infection rather than a kidney stone. The pain is the same because it all comes from the blockage and fluid build up, but I suppose the good news was that I only need antibiotics and fluids rather than another procedure. The bad news was that antibiotics don't have an immediate effect on the pain. It was certainly an eventful day and not the way I imagined spending my first time away from Michael.

When we went to pick up Michael's birth certificate, I saw this lovely sign. haha Adaline was 9 months old when I got pregnant with Matthew, and Matthew was 14 months old when I got pregnant with Michael. Apparently I'm doing this all wrong. |

One Month Old! |
We had contemplated going to my parents' house for Thanksgiving, but ultimately decided to stay home due to my recent kidney infection, kids being sick, and (the biggest one) expected snow storms along our route. Since Andrew was planning to take the whole week off anyway, he decided to stay home and we had a nice week just hanging out together. We realized we hadn't had much outside time since Michael was born, so we went to a park the night before Thanksgiving. It was dark and pretty cold, but we had so much fun. Adaline and Matthew spent the majority of our time chasing each other through the grass and tackling one another. There was so much giggling. The next day we went to the new Moon's for Thanksgiving with them and the full Moons. I'm so grateful for all of our friends here, who have really become our family.

Happy Thanksgiving from our little turkey! |

Nat did Andrew's hair, and my hair, when we got together for leftover cheesecake the next day. |
It was a good November (at least overall) for these Glenns
Matthew' face when he opens the Spider-Man helmet is priceless! And I had ti do a double take to see that you MADE his cake! It looks so amazing and the little touch of candy bananas (from Runts it looks like?). You guys are the greatest and I love reading about your lives. I'm also not sure how I missed that Adeline and Matthew are that close in age. That poster doesn't know anything. Having kids close in age is the bomb
