It's the Holiday Season (well, it was)

I'm blaming the lateness of this post on the fact that we had to send in our computer for a repair (again), but I'm not sure how legitimate that excuse is.

Anyway, I'm going to jump back to Andrew's birthday. We celebrated the weekend before his birthday with enchiladas, the Moons, and ice cream cake. Andrew liked his cake but said the one problem with it was that he didn't get to have ice cream AND cake. So we'll see what he gets next year. Ha!

He had lots of present opening helpers.

Downtown Pittsburg had a Christmas Parade. Adaline went nuts over the singing and dancing Elsa, Anna, and Olaf. After the parade, she got to color an ornament.
Don't be fooled, she loved it.

We made chocolate covered pretzels and went caroling to deliver them to some of our friends

The Saturday before Christmas, we flew to Anna and Dave's for Christmas. Thankfully we didn't have a layover, and the kids did pretty well aside from an ear-pain related meltdown during landing.
Oh yeah, the day before we left, we had a little "early Christmas" where we opened a couple presents that we weren't bringing with us. Santa brought our family a wagon and the kids have loved taking rides in it.

Dave picked us up from the airport and, surprisingly, my parents, the four kids they brought, Martha, and her kids were all already at their house when we got there. After hugs and some small talk we went out for Mexican food. I LOVE Mexican food-especially in Texas. We all chatted for a while when we got back, played games, and some of us waited up for Wilson and Amy's family to get in.

On Sunday, we had a slow morning, went to church, and then hung out the rest of the day. Adaline was starting to seem sick, but I hoped it would go away quickly.

We spent most of Monday at the Perot Museum. Adaline was still not feeling well, but with consistent doses of Motrin, she was hanging in there. The kids LOVED playing in the children's area. There was a farmers' market, camping, water, crafts, slides, a bridge, giant building  blocks and so many more awesome things. Since I'd been to the museum before, I let the kids play there as long as they wanted-it was so fun to watch them explore.
The last time these two saw each other they weren't even two months old. They had so much fun!

Daniel was getting over being sick and Adaline was getting into being sick, but they always have a good time together.

Adaline is obsessed with "baby Nate"

Ahh I love this cheesy little boy

Matthew didn't lose his shoe at the museum, we couldn't find it when we were leaving the house that morning so he just had to walk around with one shoe all day.

Just so you know, Nate didn't pee his pants, he just had too much fun playing in the water.

She built this almost entirely by herself by following the pattern on the wall

I have so many pictures of them like this-starting when Adaline was 9 months old
That night, Wilson and Amy gave us their Christmas present: stuff to make gingerbread houses! I thought it was such a fun and clever gift and I was impressed by everyone's creativity.
This one is my masterpiece.

And this one is my hot sister-in-law. Love you!

After putting the kids to bed, we played more games and stayed up too late.

We started Tuesday by going to the see the ice sculptures at the Gaylord. It was awesome! I don't even know how people can do that. Plus, I would be freezing just working on them.

Ice slide! I couldn't go on it since I had Matthew in the carrier, and Andrew couldn't convince Adaline to go down, so none of our family got to try it out. :(

I think this is Anna, mom, and Amy?

Daniel, Keller, Wilson, and Dave

I'd say Keller won by just a little

Watching while they made more ice sculptures

Beautiful nativity scene

The most amazing host and hostess

...and Noah!

After the ice and walking around the Gaylord a bit, we ate lunch at a Mexican buffet that was set up to look like it was on a river; it was cute and delicious.

We got to see Martha and her family for a minute and then everyone went to see Star Wars except for the 3 littlest kids, Wilson, Amy, and me. At home the kids watched a movie with Uncle Wilson, napped, and entertained each other until everyone else got home.

They were SO cute together!! One of their favorite games was pushing each other around in the office chair..

I think Adaline took these last two pictures. I don't blame her-the tree and presents were very pretty, and so is Andrew of course.

To be continued...
