At the beginning of the month we explored downtown Pitt a little more. First we went to a park and let the kids run around for a big, then we finally tried eating at CreAsian because everyone has been telling us to go there. It was okay, but I don't think we ordered very well. After dinner we walked around the marina a little bit. The sun was setting and it made for a pretty view of the delta.
Dad probably has the most fun when we go to playgrounds
I know, I know, he REALLY needed a haircut
The next day was the start of general conference. We had out carmel pecan cream cheese french toast and enjoyed listening to the messages from the Prophet and apostles.

The Monday after General Conference, Harris reported to the Family History Center in SLC for his mission. I'm so proud of him and it sounds like he's doing well!
The next weekend, we went to the Clayton Pumpkin Farm. The kids had so much fun picking out pumpkins and playing all the games.
Don't be fooled. We all loved the lima bean pit
She is certainly determined
Naturally, there was a pomegranate tree at the pumpkin farm
On our way home, we picked up lunch from La Taqueria Salsa. The kids were a little cranky so we decided to eat on the sidewalk outside our apartment. One of our neighbors (who I've seen multiple times) asked us what we were doing and if we lived here and where exactly and why we were eating outside...she seemed super bothered by our picnic and did not believe that we we're residents. It was so weird and so funny. On Saturday we did some Halloween shopping to get candy/decorations/costume supplies for the ward party. On Sunday we had the missionaries over for dinner and also invited our neighbor. It got a little awkward, but we're still friends with everyone.
Adaline has quite the fashion sense
and the most gorgeous hair!
Halloween shopping at JoAnn's
Some days you just have to drop everything, get ice cream, and go to the park.
Adaline loves to wear Matthew's overalls and play with rollypollies
The next weekend, we went to the Pittsburg farmer's market. It was pretty small so we decided to go over to the one in Walnut Creek since we were already out. They were setting up for Oktoberfest and I wanted to eat ALLL the food. Sadly we didn't get any. After walking around a bit, we decided to get the most out of our parking spot and walk over to a park so the kids could play. Adaline loved this playground-as soon as she found the sand box, she never came back to the jungle gym. The kids were exhausted by the time we got home, so they took a super long nap which, sadly, made us miss the last soccer game for the team Andrew was helping coach and the end of season party. Bummer! They did, eventually, wake up in time for us to take pizza to the Browns and play FIFA.
How did I forget?!?! On Friday night, Andrew and I went to Hard Rock Cafe in SF. We have some AMAZING friends who gave us a gift card when they moved because they wouldn't be able to use it. We looked forward to going for months and it was so fun to go downtown by ourselves. We walked down Fisherman's Wharf, looked at the sea lions, and checked out some of the tourist shops. It was super fun. Thanks again, C!!
The Browns' cat is always hiding from the kids. They were tying to coax her out. Adaline really should have stopped trying because the cat eventually scratched her across the face.
The next weekend was our ward Fall Festival. In the morning we painted pumpkins. Adaline LOVED it. She put on a nice solid coat of pretty much every color. For the festival, we invited a family that Andrew knew from BYU that just moved to the area. We're trying to convince them to move into our ward :D My favorite part of the party was seeing everyone's costumes. So many people in our ward are super creative and crafty!
Taking the name "Glenn Gang" to a whole new lever. Our costumes won for most hilarious and Andrew's pumpkin dump cake/pumpkin streusel won best dessert.
Andrew is the talented artist behind this masterpiece. You can't see it that well in this picture, but the witch has arms coming out of her body holding the candy bowl.
Just a couple random pictures:
Matthew climbs on everything these days. He climbs into the bath, onto the table, almost onto the dryer, on the ottoman,...
...into the sink...
(P.S. Yes, I see the knife there-no, he did not get hurt)
that day Matthew climbed up and threw the glass baking pan, which I had just gotten out for dinner, onto the floor.
One day when I got Matthew up from his nap, I found Adaline sleeping like this. Ha!
We finally got around to this...
Stay tuned to hear about the rest of October and Matthew's first birthday!
