September came and went

We got to take our first weekend trip to visit my parents now that they're in Logan. I didn't take a singe picture, but we had lots of fun with them. Adaline LOVES playing with her aunt and uncles (especially Daniel). Whenever we visit them, we hardly see Adaline. We got there late Friday afternoon and had a pizza party once dad got home. On Saturday we watched Daniel's football game and lots of college football on TV. Later I ran a couple errands with my mom while the boys put the air hockey table together, and then we got back in time to eat burgers out on their deck. That night we roasted marshmallows over the grill and ate s'mores. The next day mom and dad watched Adaline while Andrew and I went to one session of the temple dedication, and then they went to a later one. It was a nice lazy Sunday and we really enjoyed our visit.

So...we actually have sort of a lot going on right now. Some of you know that Andrew has had a job offer with Dow Chemical sitting on the table since late August. This is the company that Andrew was interning with all summer in Louisiana. They flew him out to San Francisco to interview and quickly offered him a job out there starting in January. The original offer deadline was September 4. Since Andrew and I only saw each other for about two days between when they gave him the offer and the deadline, they had no problem giving us an extension until October 1st. Even thought that seems like a nice long time, the BYU STEM career fair was going on two weeks ago and Andrew was starting the interview process with other companies. After talking and interviewing with lots of other companies, Andrew narrowed his choices down to Koch Industries and Dow Chemical. His first interview with Koch was on Oct 1st...so he asked Dow for another extension and they gave him until the 9th. Usually the interviewing process takes about a month, but Koch pulled some strings and got Andrew out to Kansas Monday night. Hopefully they'll be able to get an offer put together in time for us to be able to give it some good thought before we have to make a decision. Andrew is really excited about Dow and loved his visit out in California, so we'll have to see how Koch compares. Right this second, we feel like we sort of have no idea what we're doing and how can we possibly be to this point in life already. We're really excited and really ready to have this decision made so that we can stop worrying about it and start figuring out our lives in whatever state we're moving to in January. So check back in with me on Thursday night.

Speaking of crazy things that are sneaking up on us in a hurry...only 4 more weeks till baby number two! It suddenly hit me that it was coming up fast when my sister-in-law, who was due just 8 days before me, had her baby last week. What?! Is it really that close already?? We're obviously excited, but we've been so busy with all these other things that it has really snuck up on us. I think that as long as a get some clothes washed sometime soon, we'll be as ready as we have to be.

And "how is Adaline?" you ask. She is doing great. She still loves dressing up (especially in dad's soccer attire), eat "nak"s, and playing outside-mostly in the dirt. Somehow she's learned more about movies recently (I don't know how because we VERY rarely have the TV on when she's awake) and she keeps bringing me the Frozen DVD and asking for "snow". So far I haven't caved yet. She really loves babies right now and I'm hoping that will apply to the baby that comes into her house and demands her mom's attention. Adaline is so so silly. She loves running/racing, blowing flowers, playing in the water, animals, collecting rocks, and laughing for no reason that we can figure out. She's adorable and one of my favorite things in every morning when she demands to watch dad leave from the window or when we go outside and she points up the street and starts yelling for "my daddy", expecting him to come riding up on his bike any second. Right now I am wishing she could always be this age, so I guess I'll just have to soak up as much of it as I can.

Bowling with dad at one of the career week activities (After this Andrew and I got to go to Tucanos thanks to Dow)

We watched General Conference at Adam and Audrey's house last weekend. Adaline couldn't get enough of their awesome tents (and her awesome cousins).
