After getting back from Europe, we got to go to Andrew's best friend's wedding. I love weddings, and they're especially awesome when you know the people and you can see just how happy they are.

Don't they look lovely? |
Next, we got busy packing, packing, packing so that Andrew and his dad could drive the 25+ hours down to Louisiana and then Adaline and I could fly in just after they got here. It was a lot of traveling for everyone, but we made it safely. After staying the night in a hotel, we were able to get into our apartment on Saturday morning. Since the apartment is furnished (including dishes and linens), unpacking didn't take very long at all. Adaline sleeps in the laundry room which has the perfect nook that is just barely big enough for her pack n play. Even though there is one less bedroom, our apartment here has a little more square footage, so we are quite comfortable.

Hanging out at the hotel with Mr. Bunny-or as Adaline calls him, "munny" |

We spend a LOT of time playing outside |

Andrew's first week of work was a bit boring (he says) but we enjoyed the weekend by going to the State Capitol and the Old State Capitol. My favorite part of the capitol was learning about the bombing that took place in 1970 (I think) because we were able to see to large shards of wood stuck in the ceiling and in one of the columns. I just couldn't believe the power that the bomb had, and I thought it was interesting that they chose to leave the wood pieces there. In a different area, you could also see a bullet hole in a column from the shooting that killed Governor Long. Speaking of Huey Long, we sure learned a lot about him. He was a pretty big deal in Louisiana and did a lot of twisting to accomplish the things that he wanted. It was fun to learn about Louisiana history since Andrew and I knew nothing about it and it's history extends back farther than say...Utah...for example. We got to see the sites of a couple of the most western battles of the civil war, visit the Old Arsenal Museum, and of course, get lots of views of the great Mississippi River.

They had this set up for memorial day. There is a flag for every fallen Louisiana soldier. |

The Old State Capitol kind of looks like a castle |
Andrew works 9-80s here which means that for the extra hour he puts in every day, he gets every other Friday off. It's awesome! So for our second weekend down here, we went to LSU on Friday. We're constantly seeing purple and yellow "geaux tigers" stuff around here, so we figured it was important for us to experience. We walked around looking at the architecture for a bit and letting Adaline play in the mud, then we went to their Museum of Natural Science (like a small version of the BYU Bean Museum). Adaline loved looking at all the animals, but she was a little scared of some of them. She learned that tigers say, "rawr" but she whispers it every time and it's so cute.

After I tried to feed her to the bear, she was just a little nervous |

Just a bunch of turkeys ;) |

The real Mike the Tiger just napped when we went to visit...how rude |
 |
She LOVED these stuffed animals |

Checking out all the Greek houses. Coming from BYU, it's a little foreign to us |
I don't have any pictures from Saturday, so I don't know what we did. Maybe we just ran errands? It's hard to say. Either way, here are some more pictures from around the apartment/complex.

I'm trying to improve my hair skills |

Oh yeah! On Saturday we all went swimming! |

That is one cheese-y smile. (get it?) |
Oh yeah, I turned 23 and Andrew brought home some delicious cheesecake and flowers. White chocolate raspberry and cookies and cream. I shared with him, but not that much. I love all the birthday calls, texts, and cards. Thank you to everyone who made it a special day for me!
