On Pioneer Day, Alyssa, Adaline, and I ran the Temple to Temple 5K. As you could probably guess, it started at the Provo Temple and finished at the site for the Provo City Center temple. There were over 3,000 people running in it (plus all the strollers). It was a perfect race to ease back into things after not running for so long because it was all downhill. Alyssa and I chatted and jogged the whole way. I got a time of 31:34 which I felt great about since I was talking and pushing a stroller most of the way and hadn't run much in a looong time.
This last weekend was Salem Days! M&K came down, and the 5 of us went to dinner at a mexican restaurant in Spanish Fork. We haven't done very much with them without their kids and it was really fun. Then we went on down to Salem to hang out with the kids and get Adaline ready for bed. In the morning Andrew and I ran in the fun run while M&K watched Adaline for us. Last year when I ran it, I was pregnant but I had actually been running, but... I beat my time! I got 29 minutes flat. No, it's not quite what I was running back in high school, but this course has lots of hills (pretty much the whole first mile is up a hill, and just before the end is a huge hill), I had a baby less than 4 months ago, and I hadn't exactly been training...so I'll take it! Now I need to do another 5K soon so that I can try and beat that time before I get any more out of shape.
After the run, we went to the pancake breakfast and waited around to see if we won any prizes. Andrew got a $25 gift card to Wal-Mart. whoot! Then the parade started. Kelly was the announcer, and Andrew and I collected lots of candy with the kids. After showering, we went over to the booths and tried win bikes (no luck) and I bought a skirt and a dress. Then I took the best nap I have taken in months! Afterwards, Deborah and I got pizza for everyone before we headed down to the pageant and fireworks. The firework show was soo good! I think it's been a while since I enjoyed a firework show, but I really liked this one. Adaline slept through the whole thing, which was shocking and wonderful. It was a really great weekend. :D
I stink at taking pictures when there is lots going on (Miriam, do you have some??), so here are some random ones of Adaline since that's all anyone comes to this blog looking for anyway.
You can kind of see the temple in the background. We really should have had someone else take it, you just don't need a close-up at such an event... |

She loves hanging out in front of the TV (even when it's off, like in this picture) and she loves to put her feet up on things. It's adorable. |
