Good 'ol Thanksgiving. Who doesn't love holidays all about
eating too much being grateful for what you have? On Wednesday, Andrew and I booked it out of Houston at 1 in the hopes of getting to Fort Worth without too much traffic. However, we live in Houston and traffic is just a part of our lives these days. We still got to grandma's house in 6 hours despite the traffic and a half hour Chicken Express stop. So we chatted and ate ice cream way into the night. The next day there was basically no cooking that needed to be done. The pies were ready, we made the salad and dressing, all that was left was waiting for everyone else to bring the food. It (and Uncle, Aunt, cousins, cousins' significant others, and Aunt's family) all eventually got there and we had a great time. Post lunch we all wanted to take a nap so...we went for a walk of course!

The Thanksgiving Gang minus a couple |
On Friday grandma let us sleep in till almost 9! Then we headed to the square and did some shopping and a lot of meeting her friends around town. We also had the BEST turkey sandwiches, so I didn't feel guilty anymore about not eating turkey the day before. That night there was a parade around the square so we stayed for that.

A Texas Christmas |
Saturday: We headed straight over my mamacita's side of the family to see aunt, uncle, cousins, gma, and gpa. For lunch we had second Thanksgiving and Andrew got a significant amount of exercise playing with the cousins. In the evening we went to dinosaur state park and played in the dino tracks/ threw rocks into the water.

Sunday: We went to my old church and got to see lots of familiar faces (more so for me than Andrew, ha). I always love going back there to see those good friends. Then I drove Andrew by my old house/town/high school. He was impressed/sickened by the sports facilities at my old school-it's Texas. We got back and had an extended lunch (and half a pie) with granny before trekking the six hours back home.
We had an awesome trip and loved that we got to be with family for Thanksgiving.
